    Magna Carta

    Magna Carta
    The Magna Carta was one of the most importnant England documents that denied the use of individual power. It was signed by King John and it was one of the first signings of a king to give up some of his power.
  • Petition of Rights

    Petition of Rights
    The document refused to support the Thirty Years War. It forced billeting soldiers.
  • English Bill of Rights

    English Bill of Rights
    It was a parliment of England passed to the colonies. It was all of their basic rights as Englishmen.
  • The New Albany Plan of Union

    The New Albany Plan of Union
    This was a proposal to create an unified goverment for the thirteen colonies, suggested by Ben Franklin. It was a goverment ruled by a president, appointed and supported by the crown.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    An outburst where British Army soldiers killed five civillian men and injured six other. British were stationed in Boston.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    Americans revolted on British tea taxes. They dumped 134 chests of tea into the bay.

    The First Continental Congress, held in Phileadelphia, brought representitives from every colony except gerogia to discuss the intolerable acts. They wanted to be independent.

    Held in Philedealphia. This congress managed the coloniel war front and made headway towards independnce.

    This document declared the 13 colonys as independent. Thomas Jefferson was the main author.

    This was the first attempt for a constitution for the U.S. The documents were to unify the 13 independent colonies, but did not work out.

    An Armed uprising in central Massuchutess. Led by Daniel Shays a vetran of the revolutionary war.

    A meeting that signed and ratified the U.S. Constitution. George Washington was president of the meetings.

    This was a proposal for a bicameral legislative branch. Plan was drafted by James Madison.

    This was the alternate to the Virgiania plan. It proposed a structure to the U.S. goverment.
