    The British Parliament imposed taxes on commercial papers and documents. This caused outrage amongst the colonists.

    Boston Massacre
    Caused when British soldiers opened fire into a crowd of civilians. This killed three men and injured eight.

    This act allowed tea to be shipped directly to the colonies without landing in England first. This caused the Boston Tea Party when the colonists received the news.

    An American protest caused by the British implementation of the removal of the middle-man when importing tea. 342 chests of tea were dumped into the Boston Harbor, and this caused the British to implement the Intolerable Acts.

    The acts written as a result of the Boston Tea party. These acts were meant to punish the protesters. These acts were the Boston Port Act, Massachusetts Act, Administration of Justice Act, Quartering Act, and the Quebec Act.

    This was a meeting of 12 of the 13 delegates from each colony. They made a compact to boycott goods from the British.

    The first two battles of the Revolutionary War. This happened because hundreds of British troops marched to collect an arms cache. The Americans won both, and it persuaded many colonists to support the cause.

    The climax of the Saratoga campaign, giving the Americans a great victory over the British. This persuaded the French to provide assistance during the war.

    Winter at Valley Forge
    Valley Forge was the third camp for winter for the Continental Army. They fled to escape the British capture of Philadelphia.

    Battle of Yorktown
    The battle occurred when the Americans trapped a major British army. This siege ended military operations.

    Writing of the US Constitution
    The Constitution was written to create a government with the power to act nationally, but not infringe the fundamental rights. This was the start of the U.S. government.

    The Constitution was adopted as a result of the war. It layer out the framework for their new government.
