French and Indian War
The French were cheating the indians out of their trade. Some indians teamed up with the british while others with the french. The British won the war and got the land that the french gave up and some spanish land -
Proclamation of 1763
The proclamation made it where the colonists weren't allowed to settle west past the Appalachian Mountains. The British couldn't really enforce this rule since it covered so much land. -
