    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    On the night of April 18,1775, Paul Revere rode through the countryside warning the militia's about the British. The militias fought the British while they marched to Concord. The British soon had to retreat back to Boston with colonists still firing at them.
  • Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    Battle of Fort Ticonderoga
    A small militia called the "Green Mountain Boys" raided the British controlled fort with Bendedict Arnold. They overcame the fort and seized cannons, muskets, and ammunition.
  • The Battle of Bunker Hill

    Among the most notorious battles of the American Revolution, the 1775 Battle of Bunker Hill was a pivotal battle for American Colonists in their bid for independence. Battered down by attacks from the British Army during the Siege of Boston, the events of June 17, 1775 provided much needed encouragement for the colonists as well as sending a clear message to the British that the war would not be won quickly or easily.

    The Battle of Monmouth was an important battle in the American Revolution. The battle, fought on June 28, 1778 in New Jersey, featured British forces under the command of Lieutenant General Sir Henry Clinton and Continental forces under the command of General George Washington. While the battle resulted in a draw between the two sides, the fact that the Continental Army held their own against the more experienced British troops proved that the colonial forces were becoming more effective.

On October 19, 1781, the British laid down their arms and surrendered. The British army was defeated and the American Revolutionary war was over.
