    The proclamation of 1763 was meant to organize the french territiory that was gained in North America.
  • Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act is the extension of the Molasses Act. It was meant to keep colonial merchants and other manufacturers from smuggling non-British goods to avoid taxes. One of the successes of the Sugar act was that it increased the inforcement of smuggling laws. Today there are taxes on things in order to prevent people from smuggling things such as cigarrettes. Although people do still smuggle illeagal things such as alchohol or drugs maybe.
  • Stamp Act

    During the stamp act people that made public documents had to pay a tax on the paper they bought and a stamp would be used to prove payment. The money collected was used to protect the American frontier by the Appalachian Mountains and to maintain the remainder of british troops.
  • Quartering Act

    The purpose of the quartering act was to determine the housing of british soldiers in the homes of Americans. Colonist were to provide food, a place to eat, comfort and other things provided for good living condition.
  • Townshend Act

    These acts were applied in order to collect revenue from the colonist in America putting taxes on imports such as glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. (this eventually lead to the Boston Tea Party)

    The British soldiers were angry becuse of the American colonist and as one day in 1770 they had had enough and the soldiers began firing at the crowd after they were ordered not to shoot and and shot five colonists. The first person to be hit was an African American soldier Crispus Attucks
    * Walter Scott, an african american man was shot by police officer Michael Slager walking home from a cookout. This is related to this event because it shows how the authority willingly shoot innocent people

    The tea act was not intended to raise revenue and wasnt supposed to inforce new taxes. It was meant to help the East India Company get rid of unsold tea. However, it lead to the Boston Tea Party as well.

    The Boston Tea Party happened because of "taxation without representation" The british believed that they were unfairly taxed because of the war. They thoughtt that they shouldn't be taxed by the parliament because the american people arent a part of the parlimen An event related to this might be when The busses were boycotted in 1955 after Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat. This as well caused people to lose profit and they were also fighting for their rights.
