The British focused on attacking the Southern colonies during this battle. They ended up battling in Charleston, South Carolina until the city surrendered.

    This battle was a major battles for America. Since the British ships never arrived to bring 8,000 more troops to Yorktown it resulted in General Charles Cornwallis surrendering his troops. America this day gained Independence, and beat the British.
