    A war against the French and the Colonists (British). They fought over whose land was whose.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    After the colonies won The French and Indian War, they kicked all the French out of North America. This Proclamation claimed that the French could not stay in North America but could stay in Canada.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The British Government taxed the 13 colonies on anything that had sugar. They had to pay an extra $0.6. The Colonies had to say in it, so they rebelled against the Sugar Act.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The Tea Act was when the British Government taxed the 13 colonies extra when they bought tea from England. The 13 colonies later rebelled and it was called "The Boston Tea Party"
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The British Parliament put the Townshend Act as an act of punishment. The Townshend Act was when soldiers had to live in your house and you have to care for them.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party is when the Sons of Liberty disguised themselves as Native Americans, and went to the harbor where all the tea was being imported. And they dumped all the tea into the harbor as a protest against the tax.

    12 delegates from the 13 colonies met up to discuss the new taxes that the British Government enforced on them. They met up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

    The first battle of the American Revolutionary War. Both sides meet at Lexington and are told not to fire, but someone shoots and a battle breaks out.

    This meeting was set up to discuss how they would meet the British Military. And they all agreed that they best way to handle it was to create "The Continental Army".

    John Dickinson drafted the Olive Branch Petition, which was adopted by the Second Continental Congress. It was written to show the colonies rights to King George but at the same time still being loyal to Britain.

    Thomas Paine wrote "Common Sense" to openly ask Independence from Great Britain. "Common Sense" challenged the the authority of the British Government and they royal monarchy.

    Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence to declare freedom. To separate from the British Government, and to create their own and fair government.

    First surprise attack during the American Revolutionary War. It was George Washington and his army against the Hessian soldiers

    John Dickinson wrote the Articles of Confederation. It was written to establish the functions of the national Government of the United States.

    Battle of Saratoga
    During the American Revolutionary War this was a battle that the Americans won over the British. And this battle is the turning point on the war.
  • Siege of Yorktown

    This was the war the British surrendered from the war. This was the last battle for the American Revolutionary War. The American's won this battle and won the entire war. It ended October 19, 1781
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    Representatives of the British Government and of the United States met up and signed the Treaty of Paris. It ended the American Revolutionary War.

    George Washington was the first president on the United States. He led the Revolutionary War and led Americans to victory over the British.

    The Bill or Rights was written to list specific prohibitions on governmental power. James Madison wrote 10 amendments on it.
