  • The French and Indian war

    This war was fought over the idea of Great Britain gaining enormous feats of land that would increase the size of the colonies

    A series of laws passed by the king that were used to bring Great Britain out of debt from the French and Indian war. The main problem being that taxes were ridiculously high and were crippling the colonist financially
  • The Proclamation of 1763

    King George prohibited all westward expansion from the colonist, protecting the Natives and ensuring that they keep their lands.

    The first tax that British parliament placed on the colonies. This tax was put in place to collect more revenue from colonies, with the goal of raising 100,000 pounds to cover military expenses
  • Boston massacre

    colonist military on the streets of Boston were protesting towards the British rule. Then a group of British soldiers showed up asking the colonist to deescalate the situation. Then the British shot at the colonist making what was soon to be know as the shots heard around the world.

    colonist were sick of the stressful taxes that the British were imposing on them. So they dressed up as natives went to a British ship with 342 barrels of tea on board and threw them into the Boston harbor.
