This act is the imposing of tax on various different printed materials in the colonies. This was viewed as a violation of rights. Delegates from nine different colonies meet at the Stamp Act Congress and proclaim Declaration of Rights and Grievances and petition for the King to repeal the Act. -

Boston Tea Party
Political protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston, MA in defiance of the Tea Act. The Sons of Liberty destroyed an entire shipment of tea sent by the East India Co. -
