    Enlightenment
    The Enlightenment (Age of Reasoning) was a cultural movement. The purpose of this was to reform society using reasoning. Also used by the knowledge of scientific theory and methods. The British ignored the Enlightenment and the leaders as well. Then the colonists keep this movement going. Colonist got closer to the American Revolution because the British thought this was not important so they just ignored it. This was one of five big events leading up to the American Revolution.

    The French and Indian War
    The French and Indian War was known as the "Seven Year's War”. This war was mostly fought between the British and New France. The Native Americans allied with the French as the war went on. This war eventually became a worldwide conflict. The British fought in this war and they had 10,000 troops in battle protecting the colonies of Great Britain.The British issued proclamations so settle these conflicts with the Indians and the French.These documents or proclamations led into many different acts
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was a forced tax by British Parliament. This Act required that major document, Papers, Newspapers, and many different other types of written documents. The British had this Act because they were in debt in result of the French and Indian war. The colonists ignored the stamp act and boycotted all British goods until the Parliament agreed to let the colonies have representation in the Parliament. The famous slogan of the colonist "No Taxation without Representation” This led closer!
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The Intolerable Acts was the closing of the ports in the harbor. The ports were closed because of the Boston Tea Party, where colonists dressed up as Indians who then dumped millions of barrels into the Boston Harbor. Also to close down town meetings and the British was over powering the Massachusetts assembly. The intolerable Acts was to push to the colonists to rebellions and to protests for the Natural Rights. This Led to the last important event called the first Continental Congress

    The First Continental Congress
    The First Continental Congress was called in the American colonies in response to the Intolerable Acts enacted by Parliament. Among other things, the act closed the port of Boston.12 of the 13 colonies sent representatives to Philadelphia which met on 5 September 1774.The First Continental Congress (colonist) sent a letter listing their grievances to the king of England. This Act was one of the most effective and useful Act that colonies issued. Lastly, this leads to the American Revolution!
