    On dates of August 6th and the 9th, the United States dropped two nuclear bombs on Japan, ending the war. This helps America because they were devastated at the time of pearl harbor. Now, the people feel like they had a purpose because they won the war.

    Jackie Robinson becomes the first African American to play major league baseball. This was a big step for the African American community because they are now feeling like they are a part of society.
  • Brown V. Board of Education.

    The U.S. Supreme Court rules in Brown V. Board of Education that school segregation is illegal. America is now starting to shape up differently because of new segregation laws.
  • States added to America.

    States added to America.
    America grows onward as they acquire two states. Alaska and Hawaii are deemed and admitted as states. Opportunity is high for the american people at this time.
  • The assassination of John F. Kennedy.

    The assassination of John F. Kennedy.
    President John F. Kennedy is killed. Lyndon B. Johnson assumes the office position. Many people were devastated by his passing causing a worldwide strike in Americas heart.
  • Civil rights.

    Civil rights.
    The Civil Rights Act of 1964 outlaws discrimination. This is a big step within Americas society.
  • The death of Martin Luther King Jr.

    The death of Martin Luther King Jr.
    Civil right laws are going great, social leader MLK is assassinated. This causes a riot over America as they fall back into the old ways of racism and discrimination.
  • President Nixon.

    President Nixon.
    President Nixon goes through many controversial things. Somehow, he is re-elected and then resigns before he is impeached. He is succeeded by Gerald Ford.
