  • Currency Act of 1764

    Currency Act of 1764
    This act banned paper money in use in the colonies. British government lost major control over colonies. Debts were lowered, so "Majesty' was not paid to.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    First attempt to have total government authority over the colonies. When this Act was passed, it made Britain fall into great debt.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act went against Majesty's rules. It stopped people from legally having to allow soldiers to live in their homes.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    Basically ended the dependency of Americans on the King. Another way the Americans became independent.
  • Townshend Revenue Act

    Townshend Revenue Act
    This act stopped the hostilities caused by the Stamp Act. Caused the British trade to dry up, this helped the Americans.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    It stopped the tension of tax burden against Americans. The kiiling of five British soldiers was kind of a wake-up call saying that the Americans were not going to take any of it.
  • Gaspee Affair

    Gaspee Affair
    This attack was very impressive. There was no arrest ever made by the British.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    This act was the final "beginning" towards the revolutionary movement in Boston. This act imposed no taxes, also going against British law.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    This event was a huge step for colonists to gain their rights. They expected to find better treatment in the colonies than how they were treated in Britain.
  • Declaration of Indpendence

    This was seen as the "break away" from Great Britain. It represented their freedom from Britain.
