    Joseph McCarthy first introduced McCarthyism in his 1950 speech, accusing many state employees of working with the Communists. This strategy would soon be called McCarthyism. McCarthy accused people and had hollow evidence to make them guilty. This approach did impact peoples’ social appearance.

    The Korean war was fought between the North Korean communists, and the South Korean democracy. The USA supported South Korea, while China supported North Korea. The countries were separated by the 38th parallel, and still are to this day. USA troops were involved in this war to prevent Communism from spreading.

    The Brown v. Board of Education is a landmark case in US history, as it desegregated public schools. This case marks the start of the civil rights movement. Many Southerners were furious with the decision, and rioted when African Americans tried to enter white pubic schools.

    On November 22, 1954, John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas, Texas. The Warren Commission attempted to solve the reason behind this action, but could not come up with any moving evidence.     On June 29, 1956, President Eisenhower signed the Interstate Highway Act into a law. This stated that workers would build about 41,000 miles of highway roads in order to make it more efficient to travel across the country. The budget was $26 billion, and it stimulated the economy very well.

    The Bay of Pigs Invasion was a failed attempt in taking over Communist leader of Cuba, Fidel Castro, by Cuban exiles. This plan was a collaboration between Eisenhower, JFK, and the CIA.     In February of 1966, when Ali was drafted for the war, he objected to go because of his religious beliefs. "War is against the teachings of the Holy Qur'an. I'm not trying to dodge the draft. We are not supposed to take part in no wars unless declared by Allah or The Messenger. We don't take part in Christian wars or wars of any unbelievers."     On April 22, 1970, the first Earth day came into effect. Earth Day focuses on the environment and ways to conserve and protect resources. As a result of creating Earth Day in the US, Canada has specified September 11 to be their Earth Day.

The company sold PC's, sells electronics and software, and were the pioneers in computer programming. The computer networking system has dominated all computer technology since its creation.

    On December 17, 1989, the hit TV Show, "The Simpsons" debuted.
