    It was the conference that decided what would happen after war. It was represented by Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin. It took place in CRimea during World War 2.
  • Berlin Airlift

    It was one of the first major international crises of the Cold War. The Soviet UNion vlocked the Western Allies access to anything to Berlin under allied control. The Western allies organized the Berlin Airlift to carry supplies over to the people.
  • Korean War

    It started out as a civil war between North and Soth Korea. The war left Korea divided so poeple had to fight for it. There was so much tension between both sides that it led into the Cold War.
  • Vietnam War

    It was war between South Vietnam and The UNited States. It went on for a while but then the UNited States ended with a withdrawl and Vietnam was under Communist control. Many people were killed.
  • Sputnik Crisis

    It was a period of time in the United States that contained public fear due to the success of the Soviets. The U.S. feared that they would be defeated by the Soviets. It began with the launch of the Sputnik 1 which was the first Earth satellite.
  • U-2 Incident

    A tragic thing for the U.S. happened when the Soviets shot down an American spy plane in the Soviet air. President Eisenhower had to admit to the Soviets that the U.S. had been using planes to spy over them for a long time. This created tension between the two.

    A cuban nationalist Fidel Castro drove his army into the Havana and overthrew the American- backed president. At a turn of events, there was an invasion on Cuba for what they had done.

    The U.s. and the Soviet UNion engaged in a 13 day political standoff over the installation of Soviet missiles. Presdient JFK had to notify Americans of the missiles before anything bad would happen.

    It was started to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and technology and promote cooperation to use them in a more peaceful way. Many countries joined it because they knew it would keep them safe.
