    history channel King John signed it and he was an epic failure he lost land to the french and he taxed the English citizens heavily, and caused a rebellion the rebellios people wanted rights so they made a contract and tricked the king into signing it. the document consisted of a preamble and 63 clauses, such as getting rid of absolute monarchies, and the right of trial by jury.
  • Mayflower Compact

    It was made so the Puritians and the Pilgrims wouldn't have a huge fight. It was signed by 41 people.
  • Petition of Rights

    Bill of Rights Institute The Bill of Rights focused on King Charles I's violations like denying Englishmen due process, protection from unjust inprisonment and seizure of property, trial by jury, and protection from excessive punishments or fines.
  • English Bill of Rights

    princeton.edu It was a written document that gave rights such as, the right to question authority with out loseing your head, regular elections with parlament and it put boundries on the monarchy and was signed by king Willian III and queen Mary II it officially confermed their co-regency.

    Benjamin Franklin suggested this plan and although it didn't happen he put a lot of effort into it. The famous politicaql cartoon associated with it is the join or die cartoon.

    The French and Natives were on one side while the British and the colonists were on the opposing side. Louisbourg was the first battle won by the british in July of 1758. The British Ultimately won and the colonists were mad because Brittian wanted them to pay for the war.

    Summary of Stamp Act The items taxed during the Stamp Act were all printed papers. The money collected was used to support the defending troops. The leaders believed that the people should only be taxed by their own state representitives.

    Boston Massacre Video 5 people died and 9 British solders were arrested for manslaughter. British solders were brought in to guard Loyalists who were getting bullied by the Patriots because the Loyalists were enforcing the Townshed acts, and the solders released a couple of shots and it killed three people instantly and two people died later from their wounds.

    The Massachusets Patriots led the revolt against the taxes that were placed on tea with out their consent. It wasn't the taxes themself that made the colonists mad it was the "taxation without representation". The British responded to this act with the Coercive acts of 1774.

    American Revolution: Intolerable Acts King George III passed the Intolerable Acts to punish the Americans for the Boston Tea Party. The different provisions were the Boston Port Bill, the Administration of Justice Act, and the Massachusetts Act.

    First Continental Congress This meeting continued till October 26. The meeting took place in Carpenter's Hall. The major personalities involved were George Washington, Richard Henry Lee, Patric Henry, Edmund Pendleton, Benjamin Harrison, Richard Bland, and Peyton Randolph.The result was that they boycott British goods because at this point they were not yer ready to break away from Britain.
