    Britain had gone against the colonist and Indians. British had won and gained land over certain areas and years later the treaty of Paris ends territorial gains in North America.

    Since the British had one they made a border or line that they couldn’t go past. It was called the Appalachian Mountains and they did that for the colonist couldn’t go west and ease tensions between them and the Indians.

    British had taxed them because they were in debt from gaining even more land and told the colonist that they couldn’t buy a lot of sugar and had a limit to buying sugar.

    The same thing keeps happening when the colonist gets taxed by the British over the paper. They taxed on magazines and letters to send to people or to write on and send them to each other.

    The soldiers came to Boston and people don’t like them so what would they do? They started to riot and made big crowds and threw rocks. So one soldier fired on the innocent people/ the colonist. So the colonist started to fight or argue against them because of how they killed innocent people.

    British taxed colonists for the tea that they made and sold to the 13 states. And the colonist got mad for them not wanting the tea and having to pay for it. Also limited to buying tea and only from certain people.

    The colonist got mad or frustrated at Britain for taxing without representation so then the Sons of Liberty dressed up as Native Americans and dumped 342 chests of tea in the sea or into the ocean.

    Intolerable Act
    These actions by the British gov were in direct response to the Boston Tea Party. The purpose was to punish or hurt the colonist. The acts closed the Boston Harbor and limited colonial town meetings. And the colonist couldn’t see each other or have town meetings anymore.

    The British wanted to seize the colonist’s guns and all the weapons and materials they use to fight in battles or wars.

    When the Olive branch petition was signed
    Then the colonist sent a letter telling the king “Hi we don’t wanna fight anymore please let us be at peace and not fight anymore.” So technically the colonist wanted to stop but Britain had other plans and said no and so they kept having wars and battles.
