    Spanair JK5022, Douglas MD-82 crashes in Madrid Barajas
    Veers off the runway on take-off at Barajas, killing 154 people and injuring 18. There was a pilot's failure to deploy the flaps and slats. The warning system that should have alerted the pilots that the aircraft was not correctly configured for take-off. However, the warning did not sound, and the pilots continued with the attempt. As the aircraft took off, impacted the terrain, bursting it into flames. It was permitted to fly with an inoperable RAT probe heater because icing was not expected.

The crash was caused by the crew's inadequate flight management during adverse weather conditions. The flight crew were not trained adequately and properly on the automated system of that model of plane and didn't retain sufficient knowledge on the correct procedures for handling an aircraft in bad weather conditions.

The pilots' deficiencies were caused by a problem with the airline's safety management and a lack of regulatory oversight.

French officials confirmed the debris was from MH370.

Contact was lost when it was about 50 km from the Ukraine–Russia border, and wreckage from the aircraft fell near Hrabove The shoot-down occurred during the war in Donbas over territory controlled by Russian separatist forces. The airliner was downed by a Buk surface-to-air missile launched from pro-Russian separatist-controlled territory in Ukraine.

    Flight from Barcelona–El Prat Airport to Düsseldorf. On 24 March 2015 the Airbus A320-211, crashed in the French Alps. All 144 passengers and all six crew members were killed. The crash was deliberately caused by the co-pilot, Andreas Lubitz to commit suicide. Shortly after reaching cruise altitude and while the captain was out of the cockpit, he locked the cockpit door and initiated a controlled descent that continued until the aircraft collided with a mountainside.
