Characters and Setting
The main characters in this book are Devon, "IT", Dom, and Karma. The setting starts off at Devons house, then goes to the hospital, then to the Juvinal Detention center, and then finishes at the court room. -

Flashback
Devon has a flashback to the summer before when she was babysitting her normal kids, and how she loved them, and didn't want anything bad to happen to them. She was trying to figure out why she would want to put her own baby in the trash. -
Rising Action pt. 1
Devon is not feeling well, and decides to stay home from school. She sits on the couch and “watches” TV while drifting in and out of a light sleep. Devon's mom come home from work and finds Devon laying on the couch. She tries to talk to Devon, but Devon never talks. The police show up, and ask if they can ask Devon if they can ask her some questions. When they walk into the apartment, she does not answer any of the questions. Devon's mom gets mad, and rips the blanket off of Devon to find -
Rising action pt. 2
the questions. Devon's mom gets mad, and rips the blanket off of Devon to find out the couch was soaked in blood, and same with they blanket. Devon is then on her way to the Hospital, where she fights with the doctors saying she is fine. -
Juvenile Detention Center
Later, she is put into a Juvenile Detention center still not sure why she is there. She soon finds out she is there on “Attempted Murder in the First Degree”, “Abandonment of a Dependent Person in the Second Degree”, “Criminal Mistreatment in the Second Degree”, and “Assault in the Third Degree”. Devon doesn’t remember any of these, but the assault because that happened in the hospital. -
Climax pt 1.
When Devon gets to the Juvenile Detention Center, she is put into her cell, and stays there for the rest of the night. The next morning, she is taken to see her Lawyer (Dom), where the cafeteria is, and where the showers are. Every time Devon meets with Dom, she doesn’t want to talk.. Dom tells Devon that she knows she is an outstanding, student at school, and should have no problem making the honors system and the Center. -
Climax pt. 2
After a few days, Devon starts to open up to Dom, and starts to tell her what she remembers. One day, Devon is given newspapers she is to look over that are about her, and what happened the day when the police showed up at her house and accused her of putting a newborn baby closed in a garbage bag thrown in the apartments dumpsters. Each day, Devon is in the center, she is making her way up to the honors system. -
Falling Action
Dom and Devon already are going to trial, and Devon learns that her mom is going to testify for her, and starts to cry. At the trial, to see if she is going to be treated as a adult or a Juvenile, Devon starts to fully remember what happened that day when the police showed up. -
Resolution
Devon tells Dom that at the next trial, she wants to plead guilty. Dom tells her that she is too tired to make that decision, and needs to sleep, and talk to her again tomorrow, but Devon protests, and confesses that all the things she was charged for are what she really did.
