  • OXO (1952)

    OXO was a game made for the computer and was created by Alexander S. Douglas 1953, is was know as the digital 'Noughts and Crosses'. OXO is the first known computer game for people o play. To start playing the game the user would need to have a rotary telephone (The one with the analogue dial). You could only play this game against the computer and could not play against another person.
  • Spacewar (1961)

    Spacewar is one of the oldest digital video games running on the PDP-1 platform and took over 200 hours to develop the 1st edition of the game. Like OXO, Spaceware was one of the first computer video games. Spacewar was a co-op game, meaning you can play with another person, trying to destroy the other. The main aim of the game to to avoid getting destroyed by the other player, and also to not get sucked into the star that is centralised in the middle of the screen.

    The technology company AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) was founded by Jeremy Sanders in 1969, the company is responsible for a lot of computer hardware nowadays, most notably processors. The company is also a large supplier of graphic cards in competition with the Nvidia companies.
  • Pong (1972)

    Created by the developer of pong, Allan Alcorn as a training programme . It is pronouned as one of the earliest games found in thr arcade. It was a sort of tennis based game, where you had to bounce the ball off your wall and your opponent (whether it was the computer or another person) had to do the same. The game worked on a point system and at the end of the game, whoever had the highest score wins.
