  • Proclamation of October 7, 1763

    Proclamation of October 7, 1763
    This was an Act to make it to where the colonists did not expand westward and gain more land. The only way the colonists would be able to move westward was if they asked the king for permission to do so. The colonists did not like this so they ended up rebelling against this Act.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This Act was meant to stop the illegal trading of goods such as molasses and sugar. The colonists did not like this because they would not be able to grow these goods fast enough so the prices on them would raise, so the colonists also rebelled against this Act.
  • Currency Act

    Currency Act
    This Act was making it to where the colonists could only use the paper money from Britain and that they could not continue to use the current money that they are using. This made the colonists argue against this act and try and get it removed.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This was an Act that was used to try and gain money to get Britain out of debt from the French and Indian War. This Act made it to where the colonists needed to put a stamp on all forms of documentation, and they thought this was not right so they tried to rebel against this act.
  • Quartering Act 1765

    Quartering Act 1765
    This Act made it to where the colonists had to allow British soldiers into their house whether it was to eat or sleep and the colonists did not like this because they wanted privacy and didn't want for soldiers to also stay with them.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    This Act was made the day that they got rid of the Stamp Act and made it to where taxes where the same in the colonies as Britain. It also stated that the colonists would have a say in future laws. The colonists did not mind this Act.
  • Townshed Act

    Townshed Act
    This Act was meant to put taxes on goods that would come from the colonies. The colonists did not like this so they decided to boycott goods that would come from Britain.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    This was when the colonists attacked the British and they had a street fight which led to the death of 5 colonists, and this later led to the Revolutionary War.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    This was when the colonists tried to get back at Great Britain for imposing taxes on them by dumping a lot of chests of tea off a ship to make the British mad. This would lead to the colonists fighting for their freedom from Great Britain.
  • Quartering Act 1774

    Quartering Act 1774
    The only difference between this Act and the original quartering Act is that this one is open to all soldiers not just the British soldiers and so the colonists also did not like this Act because they were already being taxed to pay for soldiers.
  • Intolerable Acts (coercive Acts)

    Intolerable Acts (coercive Acts)
    This Act was Great Britain's way of getting back at the colonists for the Boston tea party. The colonists did not like this because this was like a punishment for them throwing all of that tea over board.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    This Act got rid of some of the rights of the colonists and allowed for them to have their own religion. The colonists were now thinking of starting the revolution because all of their rights were being ignored by Great Britain.
