  • Molasses Act

    Molasses Act
    Imposed taxes on molasses from non-English colonies. The colonist protested.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    Forbade the settlers from going beyond the Appalachian crest. It also established a set of rules that the settlers had to follow, such as, not to interfere with the Indians. The colonist ignored the laws.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Increased enforcement of smuggling laws, and also taxed sugar. It also lowered taxes on foreign made molasses. The colonist sent 50 letters to Parliament in protest.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    Taxes on basically everything.. The colonist tried to establish many laws against it.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    Settlers must provide British soldiers with housing and food. The colonists disputed the legality of this act because it seemed to violate the bill of rights of 1689.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    Repeal of the Stamp Act, and stated that the British taxing authority was the same in America as in Great Britain. The colonists were celebrating their victory on repealing the Stamp Act.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    Imposed duties on glass, paint, lead, paper and tea that was imported into the colonies. The colonists were angry and did angry things.
