The Aboriginals (Residential schools)
In this timeline, I will discuss the residential schools where Indigenous children were forced to attend. At least over 150,000 Indigenous children were forced out of their homes and taken away from their families to assimilate into the Canadian culture. Though, the experience in the residential schools was horrific as the children were sexually assaulted, abused, tortured and even killed. Between 3,000-6,000, Indigenous children have died because of what they have gone through.
