    Born December 1977, Mom, Dad, siblings, and grandparents started reading to me and showing me picture books.

    Reading Sight Words

    Started Pre-school and a time I started learning words from books through repetition.

    Libraries!! and Kindergarten

    On Saturdays my dad and I would go have coffee (cocoa) an donuts and then make a trip to the library (which I thought was amazing) all of the books!

    First Grade

    First Grade, reading on my own, a humongous collection of "Golden Books" Sometimes changing the stories to match the pictures.

    Second and Third grade

    I was a shy kid, my second grade teacher was awesome and promoted reading even bought us books. Third grade she requested me as her student again. Bringing me out of my shyness and my love for reading deepened.

    Fourth thru Sixth Grade

    Book reports!! I loved being able to talk about what I had read and retelling the story in a shortened version. I also found the babysitters club series of books!

    Junior High School

    Going to the library on weekends riding my bike, sharing books with my friends, started reading Stephen King Novels by 9th grade

    High School

    High school brought the class "Reading for Fun" I had a teacher named Mrs Wright that brought a different type of reading to my world, introducing me to Shakespeare.

    Military Years

    1997 Joined the United States Air Force. My first deployment was in 1998 to Saudi Arabia on my off time there I started reading historical books and found a new type of love for reading.

    Non-traditional college student

    I still read for fun, starting school and deciding to become an English major has expanded my reading and I have found authors that I love and now have so much catching up to do for my reading ( but will have to wait until I graduate)
