    At 9:03AM, Flight 175 hits the south tower of the World Trade Center. 614 people perished as a result of the attack on the south tower

    At 9:42 AM, US airspace was shut down and all airborne planes were ordered to land. This was the first time in history US airspace was completely shut down.
