    The Boston Tea Party was when the patriotic colonists got mad at the British for all the taxes including the Tea Act, so they dressed as Indians and destroyed an entire shipment of tea by dumping it into the Boston Harbor. This event affected the development of the U.S.A. because it was the beginning of the Revolutionary War.

    The Declaration Of Independence was a document written and signed by the Founding Fathers. It declared the 13 colonies to be independant states that no longer were ruled by Great Britain. This event is a huge part of the U.S.A.'s development because it's the document that says we're free and let us become our own country.

    Treaty Of Paris
    The Treaty Of Paris was a treaty signed on September 3, 1783. This treaty ended the Revolutionary War and expanded the U.S.A.'s property. This event is a big part of the development of the U.S.A. because it ended one of our big wars and gave us more land, which gives us more power and people.

    The Emancipation Proclamation was a document written by President Abraham Lincoln. It was the first step to ending slavery. This event helped develop the U.S.A. because slavery was an awful thing that occured in the U.S. so it was important when it stopped.
  • Women's Suffrage

    Women's Suffrage
    Women's suffrage is the fight for women to be able to vote. On August 26, 1920 the battle was won and women were allowed to vote. This event helped develop the U.S.A. because half of the population wasn't able to vote until it happened, even though both genders should be equal.

    The Imperial Japanese Navy performed a surprise attack with bombs and torpedos on the U.S naval base in Pearl Harbor. This event affected the development of the U.S.A because it was a tragic event that killed many people and it got the U.S.A. involved in World War II.

    U.S. drafts soldiers for the Vietnamese War
    On December 1, 1969 the U.S.A. had a lottery to determine who was going to get drafted into the Vietnemese War. This event is important to the development of the U.S.A. because it was a major war that the U.S. fought in and it was the first time they actually forced soldiers to fight in a war.
  • 9/11

    9/11
    9/11 was when four passenger planes were taken over by al-Qaeda. Two of the planes crashed into the World Trade Center, one hit the pentagon, and one plane was headed for Washington DC but crashed in a field. This event affected the development of the U.S.A. because it caused almost 3,000 deaths that we still mourn over today.

    First Black President
    On January 20, 2009 the first Black President Barack Obama was inaugurated into office. This was a major event in the development of the U.S.A. because it means we are finally getting over racial differences and starting to treat everyone equally.
