    It is not yet light- the slaves are working.

  • Cornelia ancillam, nomine Syram, per villam observat.

    Cornelia observes, throghout the house, a slave-woman named Syram.

    It is not yet light- the slaves are working.

  • multi servi mox strenue in agris laborant.

    soon many slaves will work strenuosly in the fields.

  • aquam e rivo portant servi.

    the slaves carry water out of the river.

  • alterum ancillam, nomine Thressam, Cornelia observat.

    Cornelia observes another slave-women, named Thressa.
