Chancellorship Offered to Hitler
German president Paul von Hindenburg offers Chancellorship to Adolf Hitler and he accepts. When Hitler becomes the head of the Government for Germany he wastes no time and takes immediate action with his plans for Germany. -
Germany Withdraws from the League of Nations
German Chancellor Adolf Hitler withdraws Germany from the League of Nations. After meeting with the League of Nations about disarmament, Germany announced that they withdrew from the league because Hitler needed to rebuild his army. He made it look like he was trying to gain peace, but France was the problem because they refused the disarmament. -
Death of President Paul von Hindenburg
In Germany, after the death of President Paul von Hindenburg, Chancellor Adolf Hitler takes over the office of Reich President. The Wehrmacht oath of allegiance is changed to be directly to Adolf Hitler. This event causes the many changes of Germany, communism in Germany, and has a direct effect on WWII -
Djsarmament of Treaty of Versailles
In Germany, Adolf Hitler denounces the disarmament clauses of the Versailles Treaty, and begins open re-armament and conscription of soldiers. Hitler tore the treaty to shreds and began to rebuild his army because at the time there was nobody willing to stop him. He had a lot of power and at the time of the League of Nations they seemed to not have any power and if they did they didn’t use it. -
Japan Invades China
In 1937 Japan invades China saying that they were fired at by Chinese soldiers. The Japanese launched a full force invasion of China. The Japanese sent there soldiers out to far, one place being Pearl Harbor, and surrendered the war in August of 1945 leaving over 1 million troops in China and having over 4 million Chinese casualties. -
Germany annexes Austria
Germany seizes the Austrian government. He does this claiming that he wants to “reunite German speaking people” This helps Hitler and German create a bigger army. -
Nonagression Pact between Germany and Soviet Union
On August 23rd, 1939 Hitlet and Stalin signed a nonagression pact between Germany and the Soviet Union. Although Hitler and Stalin hated eachother they needed to sign this pact in order to secure the boarder. -
WWII Begins
This was the first day of WWII. Some argue that the first day was on the 1st of September when Germany invaded Poland. The 3rd is the day that France and Great Britian declared war on Germany.
