Henry Ford patented the assembly line. This is important because we still use the assembly line today and also it made production go a lot faster. -
The 18th Amendment
The 18th amendment banned the selling, manufacturing, and consuming alcohol. This was a vastly huge change to the American public and eventually went away because Americans said it effected their freedom of life. -
Tea Pot Dome Scandal
Under President Taft he had given the rights to an oil refinery up to the U.S navy and sold tea pot dome without putting it up for auction and the secretary of interior was stealing money from the investment. -
The Radio!!
THe Radio was patented in 1920. It was invented by a guy named Nikola Tesla. I believe that this is important because almost everyone owns a radio and it is a very well known and always used. -
KKK
The KKK which standed for the Ku Klux Klan was a white supremecy group and seeked out anyone who was not the typical American which was basically people of different religions and races. The group was big in the 1800's and faded away and started back up in the early 1920's. This is important because this group is very well known today but they do ot act out like the used to. -
The 19th Amendment
The 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote. This was an important event in history because it opened the door for more freedom and indepdence for woman. -
Henry A. Berliner
Henry A Berliner in 1922 was the first person to fly the first successfull helicopter flight.This is important because we fly helicopters for many important reasons like high speed chases, life flighting people, and using them as tools etc. -
Birth Control
Panflits and information about birth control was sent through the mail by Margeret Sanger. Most people apposed the idea; because they thought it would give woman a reason to aleep around. Eventually it was accepted that it was just a precaution. I believe this is important because a lot of women depend on this for a lot of different reasons. -
Sacco and Vanztti
Sacco and Vanzetti were on trial fo muder and armed robbery. There was enough evidence to try them and they were proved guilty; but it was believed they were found guilty because they were two Italians and they were catholic; so people automaticly assumed they commited the crime. Later on the two were executed. -
Insulin
Insulin was discovered in 1922 as the factor needed to control diabetes. Before Insulin was discovered doctors would tell diabetic patients to eat a certain diet and that was it. This is very important because diabetics still use this today and it saved a lot of lives. -
"The Trial of The Century"
A woman names Frances Hall found out her husband Edward Hall was having an affair with a woman by the name of Eleanor Mill. So late when evening she followed the two and shot thm to death and brutally cut up Eleanor and dumped the bodies in the woods. This was interesting to me because this wasa big murder trial at the time like O J Simpson's trial. -
President Harding's Death
On August 2nd, 1923 President Harding died suddenly of a heart attack. This was a big upset tothe American population at this time. -
THe Doppler Effect
THe Dopper Effect was founded from1923 to 1925 and it used the stars to figure out weather and placement of thigs in the universe. Throughout the 1920s our galaxy was studied with the Doppler Effect. This is important because we still ue this today. -
Diptheria Epidemic
It started in Alaska in 1925. It was known as the Diptheria Epidemic and it captured the countries attention. It faded away when people started to get the shot to cure it. I believe this is important because it was a big scare in the news and all over the country. -
Scopes Trial
The Scopes Trial came about when a science teacher Mr. Scopes tried teaching evolution to his students and talking aout it's founder Charles Darwin. Three boys told on the teacher and he was summoned to court for breaking The Butler Act. He was defended by Clarence Darrow; but he was found guilty. I believe this is important because Science teachers are allowed to teach about Charles Darwin now. -
Saint Valentines Day Massacre
Seven men were lined up and killed on this day and the known leader of this crime is famous Chicago Mobster Al Capone. This is important because this was a serious event in 1929 and still talked about today. -
The Schwimmer Case
The Schwimmer case was about this woman that wanted a citizenship to America and she had to take a test and she had got two questions wrong and was denied her citizenship and she had to go back to her country. This shows how strict our country was and still are strict about letting immigrants into our country. -
Black Tuesday
Black Tuesday is the day when the Stock Market crashed and the country was econmical devastated. People were selling there stocks for money or taking there money out and caused the crash. So many pople had to sell there houses and get rid of things because mostly everyone in the country were poverty stricken. This is one of the mopre famous dates in history.
