    Revolutionary War George Washinton had an extroardinary life. He was a General in the revolutionary war before becoming the first president of the united states. In 1783 George Washington resigned as the commander of chief of the Continental Army and became the first President in 1789.

    The Star Spangled Banner The start spangled banner was written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key. (Not sure what date, year is correct)

    Emancipation Proclamation Abe Lincoln did not like that the states were fighting each other in the Civil war. He made the statement that he was only supporting the war because he did not want to lose the union. The Emancipation Proclamation stated that ending slavery was now a goal for the war.
