    Dynamite is a chemical explosive based on the explosive potential of nitroglycerin. Initially sawdust was used as an adsorbent to absorb nitroglycerin. It was invented by Swedish chemist and engineer Alfred Nobel in 1866 in Krmmel; and patented it was patented in 1867. Dynamite was usually sold in the form of a stick that was about 20 centimetres long and 2.5 centimetres in diameter.

    The first typewriter was invented in 1867, two years after the Civil War ended. Christopher Scholes was the inventor, with help from his two partners, S.W. Soule and G. Glidden. The typewriter was patented in 1873 by the company, Remmington Arms. At first, the invention was unpopular, but later in the 1880's it became a necessary tool in the business world. It took Scholes five years and two patents to finally get the correct wiring and the right patent for his keyboard invention.

Nicolaus Otto continued to build on four stroke engines after that. Nicolaus was rewarded a Gold Medal at the Paris World Exhibition for their atmospheric gas engine. He then died at age 59 on January 26, 1891
