  • Civil Rights

    A second reform came around in the 1950's and 1960's that resulted from the Civil Rights movement and the crises of the Vietnam era. It led to very important pieces of national legislation affecting education.
  • A Nation At Risk

    In 1983 the U.S. Department of Education issued a report called A Nation at Risk: The Imperatives for Educational Refor. That means there is a loss in the competivness in the public schools and the quality is lowering also.
  • Reforms

    The first year of contemporary school came into action. I came from the launching of the first Russian manned spacecraft, Sputnik in 1957.
  • Open Education

    In the late 1960's and 1970's they tried to make learning more student centered.
