In 1900's Chicago was the home of the nations biggest meatpacking company. Sinclair spent seven weeks in slaughter houses. He observed hopw cattle and hogs became steaks and sausages. Sinclair wrote a story of immigrants trapped in poverty by greedy meat pay industry. It was called "The Jungle".
