Exposition: 1 Background

Nov 30, 1483

Mella is the main charater, she is a dragon keeper for her family. Mella and her family live in a Inn visited by merchants, farmers, and other people who stop there on their way to the market. Each morning Mella must retrieve eggs from her dragon herd so her mom can cook them for the guests staying at the Inn.

• Mella is a teenage girl who is really close to her family and the things she loves, like her farm dragons -Rodger is a teenage boy who works as a dragon slayer apprentice , but the thing is he doesn't believe in real dragons -The Egg plays an important part in the story because it could become a pretty famous dragon who needs to be born at the Hatching Grounds

Nov 30, 1483

This book takes place in and around an Inn owned by Mella's family. Thos Inn has a feild around the back of it and that is where Mella takes care of her dragons. There is a forest near by and Mella is in there for a bit of the story. Lastly, this story mainly takes place in and around the wilderness.

Rising Action: 2

Dec 1, 1483

Rodger catches Mella talking to the dragon. Mella thinks that Rodger is going to tell the others about The Egg so they both go and take The Egg to the Hatching Grounds. They leave really early the next morning.

Rising Action: 1 Conflict

Dec 1, 1483

Mella is walking through the forest and fspots a fire in a cave, she is curious why it is burning so she goes up to check it out. Mella finds that there is a " rock " in the fire and takes it home with her. Then she finds a real dragon who says Mella stole The Egg so Mella promises to go and get the egg to bring it back. When Mella comes back to the cave with The Egg she sees the dragon dieing and Mella is given a quest to take The Egg to the Hatching Ground.

Rising Action: 3

Dec 2, 1483

Mella and Rodger stumble upon a city were they find an Inn to stay at for the night. In the middle of the night they get kidnapped by Alain. Alain is a new character in the book who tries to get to Rodger's father through Rodger. Alain does not suceed. While doing this Alain tries to steal The Egg from Mella.

Rising Action: 4

Dec 3, 1483

The next morning when it is dark out Alain gets surronded by wild dragons who want to protect The Egg because they are some how related to the real dragons. Alain gets woken up by the dragons and almost gets killed by them. Mella and Rodger tie Alain up and escape once it is light out. Mella and Rodger steal all things that they think will be usefull from Alain and burn the rest.

Dec 5, 1483

Mella and Rodger are at the sheperds house when Alain knocks on the door. Mella and Rodger are really surprised to see him. The town doesn't know what to do with the people so Alain is put into one room and the same thing is done for Mella and Rodger.

Dec 5, 1483

The food that they stole from Alain is running low and to make matters worse Mella twists her ankle on a large rock. Rodger goes ahead to find some help and Mella sees him waving to nothing, then she realizes he is waving to a sheperd. The sheperd's name is Gwyn, he explains to Rodger that he doesn't want them where he lives but he says that his lamb was stolen so Rodger finds it for him. Gwyn lets the two teenagers stay at his house.

Climax

Dec 6, 1483

Gwyn comes in the morning while it's dark to Mella and Rodger's room. He is there to take them to the waterfall that the dragon told them about. Mella and Rodger hurry out of there because The Egg is acting differently, they are worried. They do not know that Alain over heard them.

Falling Action: 1

Dec 6, 1483

Alain escapes from the room he was being kept in. At the same time Gwyn found a house for the two teenagers to catch up on their sleep. When it becomes light out Alain is at the house as well and he starts to fight Gwyn. Mella and Rodger are told to go and find their way to the waterfall. They get to a river that will led to the waterfall and Rodger decides to go back and help Gwyn.Mella starts walking again but slips into the river and she loses The Egg. Eventually she gets out.

Falling Action: 2

Dec 6, 1483

Rodger catches up with Mella but they are on different sides of the river. They start to run to try to find a bridge. Luckly Rodger finds one, crosses it, gives Mella The Egg and explains to Mella how he found The Egg. They come to the waterfall where they find a crack in the side. The two of them decide to go in and check it out.

Falling Action:3

Dec 7, 1483

After a day in the dark, Mella and Rodger finally discover a way out. The two get out using that way and they are so happy to see light. When they see the giant landscape in front off them they realize they are in the Hatching Grounds. The Egg is feeling different again. Then dragons from all over, the real dragons, start to close in around them and take The Egg away from them.

Falling Action: 4

Dec 7, 1483

When everyone is surronding the lake in the middle of the grounds The Egg hatches. The dragon is golden so that means it will become a queen dragon. Then one dragon yells that there is an army in the distance coming their way. The dragons want to kill the two teenagers because they think that they brought them. The dragon pup protects them so Mella and Rodger won't get hurt. Mella and Rodger have to spend a night on the edge of a cliff.

Resolution: 2

Dec 8, 1483

The baby dragon is safe from harms way. Rodger is on his way back from the Hatching Ground when Mella joins him after being dropped off by a dragon. They all go and see the king, Rodger's dad, and then everyone starts to leave and head back home.

The dragons want to make sure the humans will not hurt them any more. In order to make this happen everyone agrees on making a treaty. The dragons then become free from the humans harm like it was thousands of years ago.
