    He was a pioneer of aerodynamics. Before him, few had ever contemplated the notion of flight, even of those who did, almost none ever put much research or study into how it could be achieved. Despite putting forth many theories, he didn’t actually put any of them into practice.

    Wright Brothers
    Orville and Wilbur Wright are credited with making the worlds first successful aeroplane. They made a way for pilots to effectively steer planes using their invention the three axis control. They were the first to make fixed wing flight possible.
  • Amelia Earhart

    She was the first solo pilot to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. She was the first female to recieve the Distinguished Flying Cross. She was one of the main promoters of public aviation.
  • Igor Sikorsky

    Igor Sikorsky
    He designed the world's first fixed-wing, multi-engine aircraft, as well as flying it. He designed the first mass produced helicopter. The Helicopter was called the VS-300
  • Spruce Goose

    Spruce Goose
    The Spruce Goose was originally created by Henry Kaiser and Howard Hughes, however, near the end Kaiser withdrew from the project. It has the largest wingspan and height of any aircraft in history. Due to the war effort's need for supplies such as metals, the Spruce Goose was made from wood. Despite being made for the war it was not completed until the war had finished.

    He was the first peron to fly non-stop, solo, across the pacific in a baloon. He was also the first person to fly around the world non-stop, solo, in a baloon. He also made the first non-stop, solo fixed-wing plane flight around the world.
