  • 1858: Great Britian makes India a colony

  • 1885: Indian National Congress is formed gaining freedom from Great Britian

  • 1920's: Mohandas Ghandi becomes a leader in struggle for independence

  • 1945: Great Britian realizes they cannot keep India as a colony.

  • 1947: SOuth Asian nations gain their independence, while many people flee to a country with their region

  • 1948: Ghandi is killed

  • 1971: East Pakistan becomes Bangladesh
