    This was the first railroad to start at the Pacific coast and reach all the way to the states in the east. It made transportation easier because it would be a faster way to get things from the coast to the people out in the east. The railroad was 1,912 miles long.

Then the US lowered their price on their own sugar, so people would stop buying the Hawaiian sugar. Which caused the plantation owners to become upset and overthrow the queen, and they asked to become a state afterward.
