    When - April 24th - May 4th 1915
    Why - Because French and British Troops needed help to fight off Germans and keep Belgians safe

    Why A Significant Event? - It was a significant event because if it never happened Canada wouldn't be by ourself in wars today we would still be fighting with Great Britian

    When - April 9th - April 12th, 1917
    Why - Because the Allied Troops needed the strategically placed ridge in order to win the war

    How - The Canadian Troops used a tactic called the Rolling Barrage. They would bomb trenches, move into them bomb the next ones and move into them and so on.
    Why a Significant Event - I think it is a significant event because this is a big part of our heritage and we became once again stronger as an independant country.
    I think that if this event never haapened - We would not be as strong as we could be and we would not have the memorial we do in Vimy, France

    Why a Significant Event - Because it involves our former Prime Minister Mackenzie King and our Troops

    Why - Because Hong Kong was part of British allies and it needed to be saved
    How - 14 000 of our troops against 50 000 of theirs... We Lost
    Why a Significant Event - because even though we lost our troops for the rest of the war it was still a big part of our heritage

    When - September 13th 1944 - May 5th 1945
    Why - Because the Dutch needed to be Liberated
    How - Canadians advance from the French Province of Normandy all the way up to Holland

    Why a Significant event? - It is a significant event because we wouldn't have as many Dutch People as we do now and my family wouldn't be here
    I think that if this event never happened - Than Holland would be run by Germany or Liberated by another country but it was Liberated by Canada and that is a big part of our Heritage

    When - March 17th 1955
    Why - Because Richard accidently punched a ref in a hockey fight and was suspeneded for the remainder of the season and playoffs
    How - They blew up cars, and attacked police
    Why a significant event - This is a significant event because its is one of the only Riots in Montreal
    I Think That If This Event Never Happened - Montreal would still have some of the building's they did.

    Who - Canadian, and Soviet Union IIHF World Junior Team
    What - Canadian and Soviet Union Junior Teams play for Gold
    Where - Moscow
    When - September 28, 1972
    Why - Because both counties had World Junior Teams
    How - Both teams played for gold and Canada came out on top with a 6-5 win over the soviets
    Why a Significant Event - Because Canada and the Soviets were in a cold war during this time period
    I Think That If This Event Never Happened - Canada might not be here today because of bombs
