    Queensland troops from the 9th, 10th and 11th Batallion transfer from the battleships onto row boats to be tugged to shore.

    The troops from the 9th, 10th and 11th Batallion land on the shore of Z beach (now known as Anzac Cove) to be met by Turkish fire.

    4.50AM
    The Turkish Major Hallis loses communication with Captain Faik and fearing the worst he orders his heavy guns to fire. This has devistating effect on the covering and incoming forces as hot metal from the shrapnel kills and wounds many men.

    7.00AM
    The ANZAC's are forced to dig into the cliffs as more and more ANZAC's crowd onto the beach still under Turkish fire.
  • 6.00PM

    6.00PM
    Over 16 000 Australian men have landed at Anzac Cove. 2 000 men are dead or injured and 2 000 more are unaccounted for. The Turks have the upper hand and it will stay this way for the next 8 months of brutal war.
