    Mass production of vehicles
    The first car manufacturers in the world were French Panhard & Levassor 1889 and Peugeot 1891. By the early 1900s, gasoline cars started to become more and more popular. The market was growing for economical automobiles and the need for industrial production was pressing, that was when ford created the production line. This was important because meant that cars could be manufactured faster than before.
  • The End of World War I

    The  End of World War I
    WW1 ended in 1918 because the allied forces defeated the last of the Germans opposition forces. The world was against them, they only had Turkey, Austria and Hungary on their side, and limited food and resources. Also US declared war on Germany on April 6th 1917, because British passenger liner Lusitania was sunk by a torpedo from a German submarine 1195 casualties. This is important because it marked the end of Germans rain.

    Treaty of Versailles
    The Versailles Treaty was signed on June 28, 1919. Which was peace settlement between Germany and Allied forces. This officially ended the WW1. The conditions in Treaty were so poor for Germany, which made the eventual rise of Nazi and the eruption of World War 2.

    The jazz age was one of the highlights of 1920’s. This was when dance and jazz music became popular around the world. In Jazz Age the young ne set themselves free and had really wired hair styles and really short clothes they worn which shocked the older generations. President of Florida University said, “the low cut gowns and short skirts are born of the devil they are carrying the present generation to destruction".

    John Logie Baird is known as the inventor of the Television, but there was a group of scientist that made important discoveries that Baird used for his first television. There were many attempts to do what Baird did. The first public display was not until 1925, producing a blurred but recognisable image. This event was important because that was one of the ways to listen to the news.

    The Stock Market Crash of 1929 also known as black Tuesday, devastated the economy. This market crash was the most devastating crash in the history of United States of America losing a total of $25 billion, $319 billion in today's dollars. This event was important because I was the reason the great depression started.

    Soon after The Stock Market Crash in 1929, came the Great Depression lasting sum total of ten years. By 1933 around 15 million Americans were unemployed. As the stock prices went higher without any hope of recovery, that put many American in panic. From stocks being, the easiest way to get money suddenly changed. The economy was not fully turn around until after 1939, when World War II began. This event was important because of the amount of countries were effected.

    1938 Day of Mourning
    For many Aboriginal Australians, 26 January is the day that celebrates the landing of the first fleet at Sydney Cove but not for all. The date 26th January 1788 is when the white settlers landed on Australian land and devastated the lives all of the Indigenous people who already lived there for centuries. The Day of Mourning was a day of protest held by Aboriginal Australians on 26 January 1938 against the British colonies living in Australian.

    WW2 began when Hitler attacked Poland, and it had a chain reaction, the other European countries realised that they had to act. Hitler attacked Poland simply because he wanted to extend Germany’s and the Nazi empire. This event was important because it marked the beginning of the Second World War
  • Japanese Attack of Pearl Harbour

    Japanese Attack of Pearl Harbour
    On December 7th 1941 The Japanese attack Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Their objective was simple they were going to take out the pacific fleet. The Japanese began their attack ten minutes later a 1,800-pound bomb was dropped sinking USS Arizona. In the end 18 USS Navy ships were destroyed, 300 fighter planes, 2,500 casualties and 1,000 injured. This event was important because after declaring war U.S officially entered WW2.
  • Bombing of Darwin

    Bombing of Darwin
    During WW2 the Japanese flew 64 air raids on Australia, on the 19th of February 1942, 188 Japanese fighter planes attacked Darwin’s shores. This was the biggest attack since “Perl Harbour”. Japanese knew that the US were going to use the Airfields of Australia as their Forward operating bases, from the first raid to the last on the 12 November 1943 the was a total of 900 Australian allies lost.

    Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima
    On the 6th of August 1945 marks the day that The United States of America dropped their biggest atomic bomb on Japan which killed many people. The bomb named “little boy” was dropped on Hiroshima, but japan did not surrender & the US struck again on Nagasaki with “Fat Boy”. The bomb was dropped to bring the war to an end, this event was important because it marked the end of WW2.

    Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by UN on 10t of December 1948 it was an agreement signed by the world leaders by looking at the experience of WW2. “The international community vowed never again to allow atrocities like those of that conflict happen again.” This event is important because I gave the citizens a better life.

    The Melbourne Olympics commenced 22 November 1956. The Games were centred around the Melbourne Cricket Ground and in terms of gold medals, were one of the most successful ever for Australian athletes. This event was important because it as the first Olympic Games in the southern hemisphere as well as the first Olympics held outside Europe and America.

    The original idea of the internet goes to a man name Leonard Kleinrock, he published a paper called "Information Flow in Large Communication Nets". In 1962, J.C.R. Licklider became the first Director of IPTO and gave his vision of a space age network that can link the world. Later on the network was called ARPANET, this invention was important because of impact in the 1960s until now.

    Cuban Missile Crisis
    The Cuban Missiles Crisis was a 13 day political and military standoff between Soviet Union and Cuba. President John F Kennedy had addressed the nation and announced a naval blockade around Cuba due to the presents of missiles. U.S was prepared to use their full military force on Cuba. This was important because this led to the assassination of U.S. President John F Kennedy.

    Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a dream…” speech
    Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister who played a key role in the civil rights movement since the 1950s. He was the force behind the peaceful protest and was the reason for legislation as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965’s. This speech was that was delivered on the 28th of August 1963 was important for the rite of freedom to every American black or white. “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed
  • Australian Freedom Rides

    Australian Freedom Rides
    In 1965 students from the University of Sydney travelled in a bus to western and coastal New South Wales towns to raise awareness of the poor state of Aboriginal health, education and housing. They formed into a body called “SAFA” and they ensured media coverage. This is important because it raised awareness for aboriginal Australians.

    The mobile phone wasn’t invented until after WW2, it was used in only Trains, Aircrafts and Ships. The mobile phone was popular because you could talk while moving. “But going back in time, owning a mobile phone was confined to members of affluent class. All thanks to cost cutting techniques and innovations over a period of time. This event is important because the mobile phone is a necessity in today’s world.

    The Crocodile Dundee was the first Australian Comedy Film Set in Australia and in New York City. The story begins with an American reporter who goes to the Australian outback to meet an eccentric crocodile poacher and invites him to New York City. This was important because it was the first ever comedy which took place in Australia.

    The Fall Of The Berlin Wall
    On 9th of November 1989 East German government decides to open the check point to let the people of east and West Berlin to travel across the border. Hundreds of thousands of people gather at the Berlin Wall, using their tools to pick away chunks of the wall. Bulldozers took out most of the wall. This event was important because for the first time since 1945 berlin was united.

    The United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Childwas a treaty signed by all world leaders. This sets out all the rights that a child has until he or she hits 18 years of age and it also says that the governments are to fulfil these rights.
