United States of America Passes the Neutrality Act
The United States of America passes the Neutrality Act saying that selling arms or lending money to nations at war will be illegal. They did this because they really did not want to be involved in the war and thought that there is no reason why they should be involved in the war. This is important because later on they realize that they can't be netrual forever. -
Hitler Ignores the Treaty of Versailles *CRITICAL*
The Treaty of Versailles required Germany to limit the size of their army, but Germany disobeyed this treaty by reintroducing the draft and rearming German troops. This event was significant because from these actions and with the League trying to stop Germany from rearming made Hitler aim for bigger things and risks. -

Also, Hitler persuaded Joseph Stalin to sign this agreement by promising to give half of Poland if Russia helped Germany invade Poland. This was significant because this pact also shows us that Hitler was getting ready to go to war. He was making allies, and getting ready to also invade Poland. -

The Fall of France *CRITICAL*
he War in France was known as the Phony War because even though the war has started, there weren't any actions made. Also, when Germany attacked the capital of France, Paris from both sides, France fell. This event is significant becuase France surrenders by signing an armistice. It was signed in the exact same train as the train that people signed in World War 1. This shows and proves how Hitler wanted world war 1 to have ended. Moreover, this left Britain to fight alone. -
Battle of Britain
Hitler launched Operation Sea Lion, aka the invasion of Britain. Britain had certain advantages, such as the determination of the country and radar systems. Radio waves could detect aircrafts and indicate distance and with regular transmissions, find speed and height of any approaching aircrafts. Hitler caused massive damage to london but quit after some time because of the ammount of aircraft he had lost due to the british shooting them down. -

4 million German troops invaded Russia. After a couple months they retreited. About the next year, the Germans invaded again and after 3 long years of fighting the Russian's won even though millions of people were dead. -
Japan Attacks Pearl Harbor *CRITICAL*
On Sunday Dec. 7, Japan surprised the world by attacking the US naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The US regarded this attack as unexpected, bastardely, and unprovoked. Consequently, the US was forced out of Neutrality and onto the side of the Allies. This was extremely important, because now one of the most powerful nations had entered the war. -
Japan had built a large empire to protect the ocean around them
By the end of March 1942, Japan had built a lage empire in the Asia-Pacific Region. Japan conquered over approximately 12 countries. This is important because in a short amount of time, Japan took over a lot of countries. This is similar to Hitler taking over a lot of the countries in a short period of time. -
Battle of Midway
This was a fight in the Pacific Ocean in the middle of all the lands. The japanese rolled over the Phillippines, Southeast Asia, and East Indies. This only lasted 4 days. It ended on June 7th.
