  • Aug 3, 1492

    Colonization

    "In 1492 columbus sailed the ocean blue" This was the start of our country and was very important. Without Columbus the whole U.S. could be changed. It would not have been discovered for many years which could have changed how our country has evolved into what it is today.
  • Jamestown

    This was the first successful colony of the United States. It was established by the Virginia company of London. It served as a capitol to the colonists.
  • Boston Massacre

    After the Americans were already fed up with the British the Boston Massacre angered the colonists even more. It was one of the major reasons for the revolution and gave the people a reason to be angry with the British. Although only 7 men died it set the path for the revolution.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The declaration of independence is what got our country free. It said that we were fed up with being treated badly and want a change. This showed that we were willing to fight for our freedom.
  • Treaty of Paris

    After fighting for many long years the treaty of Paris was signed. This officially stated that the United Stated was free from Great Britain. The Americans finally were free and started making a great country. Without this treaty many more soldiers would have been lost.
  • Constitution is Adopted

    The Constitution was just what we needed to set the U.S. on the right track. It says how the government works. It creates the Presidency. It creates the Congress. It creates the Supreme Court. And is the highest law in the country. Still today we use this Constitution greatly.
  • Bill of Rights

    The Bill of rights gave U.S. citizens individual rights. These protect the people and tell them of what they can and cannot do. This is also imporntant because it limits the government so they cannot become too powerful.
  • Louisiana Purchase

    This purchase nearly doubbled the size of the United States. The land was bought from France from Thomas Jefferson for about 15 million, this was a good deal at the time. This purchase gained about 1,000,000 SKM or 800,000 SM and got us one step closer to manifest destiny.
  • Monroe doctrine

    The monroe doctrine sayed that anymore efforts from Europe to colonize land or interfere with states in North or South America would be viewed as acts of aggression towards the U.S.
  • Civil war

    In 1861 the south seceded from the north there by beiging the civil war. The south secced because the thought lincholn wuold take their slaves
  • emancipation proclamation

    The emancipation proclamation was important beacuse it freed all slaves from the south. They were allowed to leave if they cold and go to the north and be free and they wouldnt be brought back.

    World War I was a huge war against Europe. If America didnt win this war, Europe would probablly be the Worlds strongest country and America would be very diffrent
  • Great depprseion

    The great depression was a time when no one had money everyone was dirt poor. It started with the stock market crash that lead to more problems and banks had no money to pay people
  • World War II

    After World War I, America was trying to pay off all the war debt. Soon after world war I, another World War begins. World War II was a war against Nazi Germany. Adolph Hitler, one of the worlds famous dictators, was the leader of the Nazi organization. This was a very important part of U.S history because this allowed all of U.S to work togather. This war made U.S's ties with itself a lot stronger. The war advanced our technology massively too.
  • Cold War

    The Cold War was important because it was between the free nations of the world and the Communist nations who did not allow basic human freedom. The United States became a world "super power" and therefore took the lead in stopping the spread of communism.
  • Civil rights

    He led the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott and helped found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference he then served as their first president.
  • Vietnam War

    The Vietnam war was very important to U.S history. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, U.S took a leap forward and attacked back. This showed the U.S's pride in the country. We ended the war by using the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima. this was very important because it was the first time any country has done this and how effective it was, was still unknown.
  • NASA

    NASA as founded on July, 29, 1958. This was a very important part of history because it was a big rival against Russia's space center. THe Space race to the moon was on.
  • Apollo 11

    Apollo 11 was the spacecraft that successfully launched the first men on the moon. This was one of the most historical events of all of U.S history because it showed U.S's technology dominance and beat Russia to the moon. This gave Americans hope of what kind of advance technology that is to come...
