    John Lennon Assassination
    On December 8, 1980, John Lennon was assassinated outside his home. He was shot five time in the back by Mark David Chapman. Lennon was russed to Roosevelt Hospital but died on the way there. Chapman didnt even try to flee. He was found reading a book, standing next to the gun. It was later found out that at least two fans committed suicide after hearing the news of his death. John Lennon died at the age of 40.

    John Hinckley, trying to impress an actress, fired six shots at President Reagan after he finnished his speach. Reagan was hit in the chest, only an inch from his heart. Despite the severe bleeding, he walked himself into the hospital where he had emergency surgery. He struggled to make a quick recovery. Along with Reagan, a few of his security guards suffered severe injuries.

    The U.S. embassy in Beirut was bombed on April 18, 1983. The embassy was almost completely destroyed by a suicide bomber. The bomber used a car bomb to bomb the embassy. The terrorist attack was carried out in protest of the U.S. military presence in Lebanon. The bombing killed 63 people, including 17 Americans.

    The ship, the Titanic, was found during joint American-French expedition near Netherlands. The ship hit an iceburg on April 15, 1912. Many people had been searching for the ship but all had failed. There were over 2,000 people on board and only about 700 people survived. The wreckage was spread over 2 square miles. Many items are now on display at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England.
