  • Harding Dies

    Warren G. Harding, the 29th president of the United States, died on August 2, 1923, ending his presidency. He was a part of the republican party. He died of a heart attack and was succeeded by Vice President Calvin Coolidge.
  • First Female Governor

    Nellie Tayloe Ross of Wyoming was elected on November 4th, 1924. She was sworn in on January 5th, 1925 and was a part of the democratic party. She served until 1927, when she lost the reelection.
  • Babe Ruth Hits 60th Home Run

    Babe Ruth hit his 60th home run of the 1927 season. He set a record that would stand for 34 years.
  • Steamboat Willie

    Steamboat Willie was directed by Walt Disney and first premiered on November 18th, 1928. It was a black and white cartoon that depicted a mouse steering a steamboat and whistling.
  • Black Thursday

    This was a major stock market crash. People went to the banks to get all of their money at once and the banks quickly ran out of money and could not pay everyone. The great depression started soon after.
  • FDR is Elected

    Franklin Deleno Roosevelt served as the 32nd president of the United States. Roosevelt was a progressive and was the grandson of Theodore Roosevelt.
  • Hoover Dam

    The Hoover Dam was completed on March 1st, 1936. The Hoover Dam is in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River. It is on the border of Nevada and Arizona.
  • WWII

    The war consisted of two major powers, the Allies and the Axis. Germany invaded Poland, which led Britain and France to declare war on Hitler's Nazi state in retaliation.
  • Pearl Habor

    After the attacks on Pearl Harbor, the United States joined the war. It was a surprise attack from the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service against the naval base at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu.
  • Germans Surrender

    By the spring of 1945, the Soviets were approaching the German capital of Berlin from the east and the Western Allies were approaching it from the west. Hitler committed suicide knowing they would be defeated and left Karl Dönitz it charge to surrender. This ended all of WWII in Europe.
