  • 19th Amendment

    After years of protesting the US government gave women the right to vote. This helped define and unite the country
  • KDKA in Pittsburg

    KDKA was the worlds first commercially licensed radion station. This revolutionized the radio industry when they brodcasted the US Presidential election.
  • Congress enacts Emergency Quota Act.

    This act changed the immigration law. It limited the amount of immigrant that could enter the country and changed the requirements.
  • The boll weevil

    THis bug destroyed the cotten crop in the south. This made trade to other nations slow down resulting in loss of money.
  • The stock market begins its spectacular rise.

    After years of moderate stock exchange in 1924 a huge boom occured. This brought tons of wealth into the country making this the most succesful years in stock market history.
  • Ku Klux Klan members stage a major march through Washington, D.C.

    Members of the KKK marched on washington in protest of the racial laws. They staged a full scale march in order to keep the government form giving rights to African Americans.
  • The Weary Blues

    Langston hues wrote weary blues in order to spread the message of equaltiy. He won many awrds for the book and became the first huge African author
  • Sacco and Vanzetti are executed.

    They were immigrants accused of murdering a pay master. They became famous because they were blamed for their political views.
  • Herbert Hoover is elected U.S. president.

    Herbert Hoover became president after a long and very hard campaign. He became famous for his decision to drop the bomb on japan.
