World War I started in 1914, but the United States did not become involved until 1917. Germany submarine attacks and the Zimmerman Telegram led President Wilson to declare war against Germany. -
This treaty was signed by the allies after they won World War I and the Germans. Germany had to take responsibility for the damages caused by the war and they had to give up some of their territory. -
