  • President William McKinley is Assassinated

    McKinley was the 25th President of the United States and was a member of the Republican Party, he also served in the Civil War in the Union Army. Unfortunately, he was assassinated by Leon Czolgos in Buffalo New York.
  • United States Take Control of Panama Canal

    The Hay-Bunau-Varilla Treaty was signed between the United States and Panama which gave the U.S. possession over the canal.
  • The Wright Brothers Make First Flights

    The Wright Brothers made a couple of short flights at Kitty Hawk. This event made history, as no one else had been able to fly an aircraft with the success they had.
  • San Fransisco Earthquake

    This event is also referred to as the Great 1906 San Fransisco Earthquake. The earthquake was so strong it was felt in places outside of San Fransisco, it caused immense damage. The casualties from that day were around 700.
  • William Howard Taft is inaugurated

    Taft was the 27th President of the United States and a member of the Republican Party. He also served as the tenth Chief Justice after he was president.
  • Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire

    The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory was a factory in New York City, with extremely poor working conditions. The workers subjected to long hours in cramped spaces, unfortunately, these poor conditions only worsened when the building caught fire, about 146 workers died.
  • Sinking of the Titanic

    The Titanic was a large boat that was making history as the first of its kind unfortunately a few days into it's trip it hit an iceberg. This collision is what began the sinking, the tragic event resulted in about 1,500 deaths.
  • Woodrow Wilson is inaugurated

    Woodrow Wilson was the 28th President of the United States and a member of the Democratic Party. He was President during WWI and well-known for creating the League of Nations.
  • United States Enters WWI

    President Wilson requested a declaration of war against Germany to COngress. this was primarily because Germany sunk many American vessels. Although at first Wilson did not want to enter the war he felt America had no other choice.
  • 19th Amendment

    The 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote, this was a major victory for the women's suffrage movement which lasted for decades.
