This was fought during the Civil War. Both Sides fought hard and both also suffered many losses Both sides lost over 20,000 men. This Battle resulted in a union victory. -

The Gettysburg Address is given at a ceremony that honored all the soldiers who fought. This is known as one of the most famous known speech. -

The US Congress passed the 13th amendment. The 13th amendment slavery illegal in all of the United States Territories.
