    British troops had occupied Boston and were marching on Concord as they passed through Lexington, where a battle took place. The Americans lost, but they had slowed the British advance. By the time the Redcoats got to Concord, the Americans were waiting for them in force. The weapons depot was saved, and the British were forced to retreat.

    The Second Continental Congress was a body of representatives that met all throught the revolutionary war. They met from May 10, 1775, to March 1, 1781. It was the body which adopted the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    William Prescott had around 1000 colonial militiamen, while General Thomas Gage had around 3000 men. The British troops attacked and the first two assaults were repelled by the colonial militia, resulting in considerable losses to the British force - over 1000 men were either killed or wounded. Even though Great Britian won, they still suffered many losses.

    The Continental Congress had Thomas Jefferson construct an official declaration of Indpendence. The whole document was drafted on the ideas of Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of happiness. It was sent to England, so the colonist could declar their indepedence.
