Proclamation Act of 1763
The whole reason for the Proclamation Act was so that colonist could stop going into territories that belonged to the French, it was so they wouldn't start much more conflict. Shortly after Parliament had made the Proclamation Act enforcing the rule to colonist and not allowing them to have any land in the west, they hired many troops to make sure this didn't happen so they can be at peace. -
Sugar Act
The Sugar Act happened when Parliament decided to start adding charges on colonial trades, for example, wine, coffee, textiles, when they were importing goods and trying to expand. When cargo came Britain made sure paperwork were filled out and the navy was patrolling the coast for any smuggling going on. -
Currency Act
Whole reason for this act is that the government in colonies could not issue any money and make sure they were paying taxes and all debts, to the merchants, with currency from Britain. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was when Parliament decided to pass this act and start charging like everything for example, newspapers, legal documents, and playing cards. With taxes, so they can be able to pay the cost of the military so they can defend colonies. Later on they protested this act, they wanted to repeal it simply enough because they couldn't afford it. -
Quartering Act
Quartering Act is when the government gave the British soldiers like a little home a place to stay, now when New York refuse them to stay they were suspended for 6 months. -
Declaratory Act
The whole reason for the Declaratory Act being passed is so Parliament makes sure they are passing laws that are fit for the colonist. -
Townshend Act
Townshend Act was when they were start to impose new goods for example, paper, tea, paint and much more, this was simply so they revenue the judge, colonial government salaries. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre happened when Boston decided to throw fire to the crowd killing and wounded people, and John Adams decided to defend the soldiers in a murder case. -
Boston Tea Party
The Tea Act was passed by the Parliament so Americans could sell tea but so then the English could smuggle tea from Holland. After they discovered this they ended up closing the trade, and stopped having town meetings . -
Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Act was when laws were being passed down by the British to start punishing the colony for the Boston Tea Party happening. The colony that was being punished was the Massachusetts. -
Quartering Act 1774
Quartering act was so that British soldiers find homes and places to stay at this was different because it let the governors in this new act rather then the colonial legislature. -
Quebec Act
The Quebec Act was so that the Quebec of French could cover the west of the Mississippi River in the South of Ohio river so that the Catholic Church would be there.
