  • The American Revolution

    The American Revolution
    The American revolution was a movement which consistered of a political upheavel and war. It was the time of when the 13 colonies of America broke free from the British Empire, creating their own independece and therefore became the United States of America. This was done by five men, Thomas Jefferson, Roger Sherman, Benjamin Franklin, Robert R Livingston and John Adams creating the declaration of Indepedence. The American Revolutionary War continued after this, and changed the modern world.

    July 14th, 1789: Outbreak of the French Revolution
    The French Revolution was a movement in France that occured from 1787 to 1799. It reached its first and highest climax in 1789, and changed the overall ruling legitmamicy of France forever. Due to rising taxes, low income of crops, the decaying feuadal system, national bankruptcy and distribution of ridiculous amounts of money to the highest classes led to a storming of the bastille prison by the peasents, resulting in the decapitation of the king and france being controlled by its own society.

    Napoleon creates the Napoleonic Code
    After the the Treaty of Amiens is signed, Napoleon becomes in control of France. He therefore enforces the Napoleonic Code, which forbade privileges or royaltys based on birth, allowed freedom of religion to all, specified that government jobs should go to the most qualified and abolished feuadilism in France. This changed the structure of classes in France forever.

    Peter Cooper was an inventor, manufacturer, and philanthropist, who created a Locomotive, a steam-driven train, given the name "Tom Thumb"", and raced it against a horse on a common carrier railroad. This was a significant event in history via transport, as the "Tom Thumb" led America to create more versions of Peter Cooper's creation, which led to trains becoming a popular use of transport for humans, and not just for carrying resources.

    William Whewell was one of the most influential and significant in nineteenth century in Britain. He was a polymath who wrote many documents and thesis' on mechanics, mineralogy, geology, astronomy, political economy, theology, educational reform, international law, and architecture. Even still writing the widely published 'History of Science' and 'Phisolophy of Science, his biggest invention was the word 'Scientist'. pushing aside the terms 'Man of Science' and 'Natural Philospher'

    Thirteenth Amendment to the United State Constitution: Abolishment of Slavery
    The 13th Amendment to the United Constituation was put forward for the abolishment of slavery. This was mainly aimed at african/americans who had been treated unfairly and cruely throughout American History, and had no freedom whatsoever, only to work as servants. The idea of the amendment was met with obstacles, as the civil war was still occuring, but finally, on the 31st of Janurary, it was passed through the Senate, and on February the 1st, Abraham Lincoln approved the document.

    Alexander Graham Bell invents the Telephone
    The first Telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell on the 10th of March, 1876. It was created by making a wire-based electrical system that, using soundwaves, could transmit messages via voice from one point to another. Intrestingly, Elisha Gray also invented a similar version of the telephone, and provided his version to a patent office only hours after Bell did. A famous legal battle occured over the rights, and Bell won.

    The Federation of Australia: 1901
    Australia first became an independent country, bringing together the six Australian colonies, New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory, on Janurary the 1st, 1901, during a famous commeration known as the Federation of Australia. This was the biggest ceremony that first occured in Australia as it signified the population as a fully certified nation, and opened up new world wide investments for the country.

    In the 19th century, a group of revolutionaries in Southern China led a successful revolt against the Qing Dynasty, which signifacantly created the Republic of China, ending the imperial system of China. This was an important situation involving the entire world, as the emperor had for many years instituated limited trade towards very few countries, but now, with Sun Yet-Sen at the helm of control, trades were open to the majority of all allied countries and China began an age of continous trade
  • World War 1 Begins

    World War 1 Begins
    World War began due to the assassination of Austria's Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie. The assassination occurred on June 28, 1914 while Ferdinand was visiting the city of Sarajevo in the Austro-Hungarian province of Bosnia-Herzegovina. He and his wife were assasinated while waving to crowds in a moving car, by a Serbian nationalist. This gave Austria-Hungria and Serbia an excuse to call in their allies and start World War 1.
  • The Russian Revolution

    The Russian Revolution
    The Russian Revolution consitered of two events: the first being the start of the Russian Revolution, during February where the Russian monarchy declined and a provisional government was created. Then, in October, the revolution then placed the Bolsheviks, the Russian Social-Democratic Workers Party, in power over the country, and the first communist soceity was established.
  • The decline of World War 1

    The decline of World War 1
    After an estimated 10 million military soliders were lost and over 20 million were wounded, Germany ran out of resources and reinforcements, retreating home, and the war ended. The Versailles Treaty was then created, after many politicians arguing over its details, until it was granted as the treaty of peace. It is said though, that many people believe the document was the setting of the stage for World War 2.
